An Oasis on the Prairie

Left Regina today at noon. We managed to fit all five packs in my trunk and various other bags and ourselves into the car and survived the 3.5 hour trek to the cabin. Deanna is already sick with a nasty cold and Roy has his own medical problems... ha ha, I'll leave it at that.

Everyone is loving the oasis on the prairie. We arrived at about 4pm and went straight to the pool and had fun playing old school games like marco polo and monkey in the middle.

Afterwards we made supper, burgers and oven fries, and the boys hopped right into the hot tub. (Mom, Ben has offered to be our pool boy and travel to the cabin every second weekend to check on the hot tub :) Deanna and I later joined them and we hammered out tentative plans for Scotland.

Roy rounded out the evening by showing us a video by Mitch Wiles, an aspiring director whom we both graduated with. The boys are currently watching Borat and I'm heading to bed. One long day of travel under the belt.

We are leaving for Calgary in the afternoon. Derek and Ben are staying with a highschool friend, Roy with another friend and I am going with Deanna to stay at her brother's place. Sounds like we might go down to a pub on 17th Ave. to watch the football game.

Flight leaves at 7:55 PM CST and we arrive in Glasgow at 10:50 AM local time.

Check in again when I'm across the big pond :)
