So if I don't have any more posts from now on, you can all assume I died over here of heat stroke!!
Today we were out the door at 9 am and caught a water bus to the train station to get a ticket to Florence on the 13th. We managed to avoid the lines and use a machine to get a ticket for 34 euros. We also bought a 48 hour water bus pass that cost us 26 euro... too expensive. We waited in line at the tourist info booth to pay 2.50 euros for a tourist map and that's about it.
We got on the boat and went to Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square) and saw this icky line to get into the basilica so we will wake up early tomorrow and get in line. Holy too many people batman! If Derek (Elliot) does come to Venice he will probably jump in the canals! We walked over to the Guggenheim but sorry Jeff, had no flower to lay on her grave but we saw your special little man statue :)
And seriously... that is all we have accomplished. It is so hot here I have such a headache and nothing I am seeing here really awes me. I think I got my hopes up too much or I am just too hot to care.
Our train leave on Wed morning at 8:45 am and takes about 2 hours. Florence should be better.
Jeff, also had gelato last night - tiramisu and chocolate :) So now we just have to go to that beach and into the basilica and we will have accomplished your list.
Had a great sleep last night without any interruptions. This hostel makes me feel human again!
