Why do I do this to myself?

Laundry = a bit of a hike, 1 hour wash and dry for 7 euro. Mission accomplished!

When we got back to the hostel we were told that they were serving supper in an hour and to go and get a drink and some bread. We headed out and bought some 5 euro red wine and a 2 euro lof of bread and we were just in time for supper (and a premium seat at a table!).

This is first hostel to serve breakfast AND supper. Completely unheard of! OMG was it amazing and real italian and the guy gives you a heaping plate and there were 2 courses and then he did all the dishes. Am I in heaven? Did I die of heat exhaustion like I predicted? The first course was pasta with pesto... the most flavorful pesto ever... probably not from a jar right? The second course was meatballs and potato and it was AMAZING!

After supper we headed out to get more wine at a dodgy (see ghetto) store and we got a 6 euro bottle of red South African wine and a 65 cent 2 litre bottle of water. We could have got 2 euro wine, that place was crazy. Anyways, we got back and hung out in our room and drank and talked with everyone. We met 2 more Canadians = Marc-Andre (QC) and Brad (ON) as well as a kiwi and a brazillian and a brit (Ben). There were lots of Americans there too.

At 10 Tommy (hostel dude) came to get us and we went to a little bar and had 5 shots for 5 euro and shared them with Brad and the 2 American Kyles. Marc-Andre bought us a beer and well you can tell how the night went.

We moved on to a disco and found out what Italian guys are all about.... AHH! Many runs to the bathroom to hide. I left by myself and walked back and passed out and this morning woke up drenched in sweat cause it was so hot in our room and I had a pounding headache to boot. Got up and showered and took Motrin and I was good to go.

Deanna and I went to see David with Marc and we waited in line for a good hour and I chugged a gatorade. When we finally got in I was not feeling so hot. I had to go to the bathroom and chill out for a bit and then I was good. We grabbed a quick sandwich and waited in line at the Duomo which went really fast.

Marc and Deanna went up into the duomo and I ran back to the hostel to ge my wallet which I had forgotten. I met them back at the duomo and I made friends with a cariacaturist and so Marc got a picture of him done when he got out. Then we promptly grabbed gelato!!

We made our was to the uffizi gallery and waited 1.5 hours to get in and there was only 1.5 hours left to see it and it is the hugest museum ever. Tommy told us like 75 percent of the world's art is in there and I believe him.... NOW! Got a cool roof top terrace and a room that is all in gold. So ya I rocketed through it and didn't get to look at anything too closely.

Can't wait for supper in half and hour :)

Tomorrow we're off to Rome in the afternoon... please rain.
